Hello guys. Going to be starting a franchise with the two home teams of Virginia, Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals. I will be playing on All Star difficulty using knights opening day rosters. Played the Nationals game earlier in the week and lost 2-0 to the Braves. Will get the O's game up later today. Show some support as Jeremy Guthrie takes the mound against David Price of the Rays.
The O's squeaked out a win here on opening day. Jeremy Guthrie pitched 7 solid innings only allowing 2 runs while walking 2 and striking out 6. However Jim Johnson would give the O's a scare as he allowed 5 runs to come in one of them being a 4 run shot by Manny Ramirez. However in the bottom on the ninth with 2 out Uehara would replace Johnson and get the final out. Join us tomorrow as the O's continue their gameplay in Tampa as Chris Tillman is scheduled to go up against James Shields. First pitch is at 1:00 PM EST.
Tillman pitched a mediocre game giving up 3 runs on 7 hits. The O's blasted the Rays bullpen in the eighth and ninth innings stretching the lead out to four. Accardo came in the ninth and shut the door to secure the Orioles second straight victory. The birds will go for the sweep tomorrow as Brian Matusz is scheduled to take on Wade Davis.
Decided to just stick with the Baltimore Orioles seeing how they do sponsor the local AAA team here in Virginia, the Norfolk Tides. Anyway here are the stats from opening day. Please enjoy and I apologize for this being so bland as I do not know how to take screen shots or post real life pictures yet to add to realism.
As we can see not a great day for the Orioles as we took the loss 5-0. Jake Arrieta just didn't have the goods to shut down the Minnesota Twins' offense. He gave up the 5 runs in 6 innings of work, walking 3 and only striking out 1 Twin. The bullpen was strong allowing just 1 hit, walking 3, and striking out 1 other Twin. However the five runs the Twins pushed were against Arrieta. Carl Pavano worked 6 strong innings as well giving up only 1 hit, walking 2, and striking out 2 as well. Their bullpen shut down the O's as well. On with game 2 as Tommy Hunter takes on Francisco Liriano.
