Rockets 2010-11 campain dealt a massive blow on eve of season opener!

Just weeks away from the season opening game, against the defending champion Lakers, the Houston Rockets organisation has been dealt a major blow with superstar centre Yao Ming being forced to call an end to his career!

All reports indicated that his previously injured left foot was well on the way to being healed and for Yao to be back in action by the all star break. But a freak accident has caused Yao to re break the repaired foot and doctors have said it is worse than the original.

Medical professionals were believed to have told Yao that if he wished to walk with out use of an aid for the rest of his life he should call a hault to his 8 year career.

A statement from the Rockets Organisation was read out at a press conference earlier today. It said '' We the Houston Rockets are deeply sadened by the recent injury news to do with Yao Ming. He was not only a superstar on the court for us but a superstar off of it as well. We understand the doctors orders and would like to continue to help Yao and his family in what ever way possible."

It is beleived a position as an international ambassador for the NBA will be offered to Yao.
