Hello and welcome to MyGM - Going Kentucky - NBA 2k18 (PS4)

Hello everybody. With the NBA season now underway, I have been getting the itch to make one last attempt at sticking with a NBA 2k18 MyGM here on Operation Sports and believe a fantasy draf MyGM will solve the issue of me not sticking with a MyGM.However, this will be a special fantasy draft as I will only pick/draft players who are from the University of Kentucky. This will be my absolute final attempt at a NBA 2k18 MyGM and I seriously hope that I am able to keep up with it and not get side tracked by all the other going-ons in my life such as work, college, and family life.

Why the Brooklyn Nets? I chose the Brooklyn Nets because I believe that with a fantasy draft I will be able to turn this team around and into a contender.

I will not discuss any settings or ratings in this MyGM, just basketball and only basketball. I will try not to do any crazy trades, or try to stock up on dozens of draft picks, as I think that take away for the reality of it.

Every two weeks of the season I will post team and league wide updates. Also since I am starting with a fantasy draft I will start off by posting a fantasy draft recap which will consists of the first rounds results and the entire results for my team the Brooklyn Nets. Other than that I just want to have fun with the franchise, without getting too seriously involved in it as that has happened to me before and it makes it too easy to just drop things and have to restart again.

Also any comments/suggestions you might have to help me out along the way would be wonderful. What could I change/do different? You have a trade idea for me to make, let me hear it. Anything at all that could help me and make this dynasty more enjoyable for both you and me would be welcomed.

There has been a major shakeup in the NBA as NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, just held a press conference a few hours ago which will effect each and every team and player in the NBA. With the 2017/18 season months away from tip-off, here is a transcript from the press conference given by Adam Silver.

Adam Silver: "Welcome everybody. I thank you all for being here today for this presser which as I know was not expected. As you all know I am a firm believer in hearing the fans voice. After all, if it was not for them, our arenas would be empty, merchandise would not move from stores and the NBA lights would probably not be on. After watching the news and hearing and reading what the fans have to say, I have come to rethink this situation.

The parity in this league, which does not exist in my eyes, makes many wonder, why have 30 teams if you have a handful of teams that have more than 2 or 3 superstars. You have teams that will probably never see the playoffs and if they do the competition and talent that they are matched up against are far more superior. The NBA is unbalanced in the eyes of many. We love a good rivalry in the NBA and sports in general, but for the past few years it’s been amongst the same handful of teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. This is totally not fair to the teams nor the fans of those teams that work hard to pay for tickets to go and watch their teams play and not be able to be competitive.

I fully understand the protests that have been going on and you know what, I have come to the conclusion that the fans have an extremely valid point.

Therefore and effective immediately, the NBA will hold a fantasy draft where all players, both veteran and rookie, are picked from a pool. The draft type will be fixed and the draft order will be based on last season's league standings as I wish to give teams at the bottom of the league the past few seasons the best shot at turning their fortunes and luck around. I know there will be many players upset about this, but at this point in time I believe that this is something that will benefit the NBA as a whole in the long run.

We will be holding a draft lottery live in the coming weeks. Like I mentioned, we are still a few months away from opening night. This will be the first time that the free agency period will not exist. Many players are not happy, many are and I am personally stoked about a reformed NBA for years to come. I hope that for the fans it’s even more exciting."

Robert Osmond injuries himself playing for the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 Western Conference Finals. He has an diagnosis of a full tear off the anterior cruciate ligament and partial tears of the posterior cruciate ligament and collateral cruciate ligament. His playing career is officially over following this gruesome injury.

Flash Forward Six Years

Charlotte, NC

Robert Osmond has been named the new general manager of the Brooklyn Nets by Nets' owner, Trent O'Brien. O'Brien informs Osmond that he has an introductory press conference scheduled with the media at 2PM to introduce him as the team's new general manager. On the way to Trent O'Briens office Robert Osmond meets with Nets' star player, Devin Booker, and head coach, Kenny Atkinson. Robert Osmond meets and has a sit down with Nets' owner, Trent O'Brien, prior to his 2PM introductory press conference and is given some advice from Trent.

The first question asked to Robert Osmond is what is his vision for the team and goals going forth into this season and moving forward. Osmond responds by saying he feels that there are still some minor tweaks needed to be made in order to get the team to where they would like it to be. The second question Osmond is asked is whether he is confident in the current coaching staff or if he will bring in his own people. Osmond responds that he believes it now is the time to make a change in the direction of head coach.
