A Magic Movement | Orlando Magic MyLeague | NBA 2K21

This MyLeague story follows the Orlando Magic as they embark upon a new era. It's been many years since the Magic were relevant, but with an intriguing young core of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, and a bevvy of other young players, the future looks as bright as ever for this up-and-coming franchise.

Rundown
I have downloaded a set of updated rosters for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. The entire first season will be simulated and the franchise will start being fully followed/invested in, starting with the 2023-2024 season.

After simming the 2022-2023 season, I will conduct the 2023 off-season, draft included, and start playing games in the 2023-2024 season. My primary method of MyLeague approach, delivery, and presentation will be as follows: (1) I will SuperSim most games; (2) if the game is within 10 points AFTER three quarters, I will jump-in and play the remainder of the game; (3) I will provide at least a linescore for every game and a full boxscore for some games; (4) I will provide monthly league-wide updates (standings, league leaders, etc.).

Re: A Magic Movement | Orlando Magic MyLeague | NBA 2K21

The Orlando Magic were unable to strike gold for the second consecutive year in the coveted Victor Wembanyama draft. The number one pick instead fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder who, without much hesitation, took the French big man to pair with last year's #2 pick and ROY runner-up Chet Holmgren who averaged a 19.4 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 3.2 APG, and 1.7 BPG. The pairing of Wembanyama and Holmgren will give the Thunder the most unique backcourt since, well...ever. Wembanyama stands 7'3" with a 7'9" wingspan while Holmgren stands 7'1" with a 7'6" wingspan. Both are multi-faceted, rim-protecting bigs who can play either frontcourt position while stretching defenses to the perimeter with their ability to shoot the 3-ball.

With the second pick, the Magic were able to land a guard prospect in Scoot Henderson. Henderson, an extremely strong prospect in his own right, is a player many scouts feel is "#1 worthy" in his own right. However, he had the misfortune of being in the same draft as arguably one of the 10 most uniquely gifted in NBA history. Henderson will share the court with last year's #1 pick and ROY Paolo Banchero who averaged an eye-popping 21.3 PPG and 9.1 RPG.

The rest of the top 5 was rounded out with the Utah Jazz selecting Dariq Whitehead; the San Antonio Spurs selecting Keyonte George; and the Thunder using another of their endless 1st round draft picks to select Amari Bailey.

Good luck with this one brother. Pity you didn't get victor. But lots of talent there to develop.

Thank you. I honestly didn't mind having to "settle" for Scoot. I feel like the fit is solid as the Magic frontcourt with Paolo, Franz, and Wendell Carter Jr. is a really strong young core, while the backcourt left something to be desired.

We shall see. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely would've taken Wembanyama if I had landed the #1 pick.
