Re: Service Academy Thread..

March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free
Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory
We’re the Army and proud of our name
We’re the Army and proudly proclaim

First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And The Army Goes Rolling Along
Proud of all we have done,
Fighting till the battle’s won,
And the Army Goes Rolling Along.

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)
For where e’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Valley Forge, Custer’s ranks,
San Juan Hill and Patton’s tanks,
And the Army went rolling along
Minute men, from the start,
Always fighting from the heart,
And the Army keeps rolling along.

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)
For where e’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Men in rags, men who froze,
Still that Army met its foes,
And the Army went rolling along.
Faith in God, then we’re right,
And we’ll fight with all our might,
As the Army keeps rolling along.

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)
For where e’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Re: Service Academy Thread..

The Army team's the pride and dream
Of every heart in gray.
The Army line you'll ever find
A terror in the fray;
And when the team is fighting
for the Black and Gray and Gold,
We're always near with song and cheer
And this is the tale we're told:
The Army team
The Army team
Rah Rah Rah Boom!
On, brave old Army team,
On to the fraaa-ay-ay-ay:
Fight on to victory,
For that's the fearless Army way!

Re: Service Academy Thread..

I live 45 minutes from West Point, so i have been following the team very closely. It seems new coach Rich Ellerson could have the Black Knights on track after their 27-14 win over Eastern Michigan. That is with the first true Freshman (Trent Steelman) to start a game at West Point since 1987.

It is the first time Army has won a home opener since 1996, and the first time Army has had a winning record sine '96 as well.

Army switching back to the triple option was the best thing for them....there was no way they were going to be successful running a pro-style offense.

Re: Service Academy Thread..

Ok here is something for you guys to Ponder:

Take a Army Offensive Tackle, He is a pretty big boy. Probably weights 260-280, if this kid wants to compete at this level he has to maintain this weight. Problem is when his senior season is over he has about 4-5 months to lose a rediculous amount of pounds or he will not make weight when he goes on Active Duty. If he does not make weight he can be Generally discharged for not maintaining the army's weight requirments.

My LT who went to West Point said that every year you would see these seniors running around the track after class in sweat suits trying to lose the weight.

Figured some would have problems making weight but figured that making tape would not be a problem.

Well you gotta remember these guys are going to be Officers so they are held to a much higher standard than enlisted fellows. They may get a pass for a little bit but it will not last for very long. If any of these guys wants to see that silver Bar than they better make weight and tape.
