What a terrible defensive play call on that third down.

- free release on maybe the best receiver in the country
- inside technique, just begging for a go ball
- no bracket coverage with Clark?


Deflating, but kudos to the Irish for putting the "Fighting" in Irish. This could've been Georgia / TCU-ish type of blow out, but they fought hard.

Easy for me to say from my couch, but my goodness. No way the pass rush was going to get home when the easy read was going to be find #4 down there somewhere.


Wanted Freeman to win, but happy for Day - especially after the Michigan game.

ND battled back and made it closer than I thought they would. Credit to them. But Ohio State is just too talented.

I should have gone to Vegas before the playoff started since I went 11-of-11 on my playoff picks.

I'll say this - there's been complaining (and I mean a lot of complaining...) about the 12-team bracket, but we wouldn't have gotten this title game or champion without this format. So I'm happy with the new format, which will be refined along the way.

I was entertained throughout the postseason with the playoffs and all those "meaningless" bowl games. Already looking forward to next season.

I didn't catch most the game but this stat is telling. Aside from their QB, Notre Dame’s backs and receivers totaled just 17 yards rushing on EIGHT attempts. No chance they could've expected to really do much with that.

Worth noting that Leonard had 40 yards on 17 attempts, though two of those were the sacks, I'm sure.

Based on some week 14 comments, I am surprised Ohio State was celebrating. I thought they were supposed to be sulking about Michigan still and that a national championship was meaningless.
