Buying 360's through Amazon...

I'm interested in buying a 360 on Amazon, since I can get them for up to 50, even 70 dollars cheaper.

My dilemma is that I'm wondering, how will I know it won't just have the red ring, or will have it within a few weeks? Do these 360's through Amazon come with a warranty or something? Lastly, would you recommend buying one online, or simply paying the extra bucks just to have a sure-fire new system with warranty?

There is no way to know no matter where you buy it.

You always have the MS warranty, and I believe if you buy directly from Amazon you get 30 days. But of course you have to ship it back.

Target offers a 90 day warranty, only place I know that offers more than 30.

If you buy from Amazon itself it should be factory-sealed, no different from buying it at Best Buy or GameStop. If you're talking about those links that say 'New & Used From $199.99' or whatnot, then it's more akin to buying from eBay: you just have to trust the seller and, generally speaking, if a seller is telling you it's new, it probably is.

That said, I wouldn't trust a refurbished 360 (i.e. one for considerably less money) as far as I could throw it. Buy a new one.
