Ok, so I just fired up my Xbox. It turned on fine, but the blade info wouldn't load. It was just showing the 360 silhouette, with the dot circling around it..that's all I could get. I tried loading in a game disk and that loaded fine. So I went back to the dashboard, and same problem. Then I turned off the console and turned it back on. Oh no! Three rings of death! I turned off and on again, and the same thing. So I tried one more time and it turned on. It did the same thing...the info on the blades wouldn't load..just the "loading" silhouette. I let it go for a while and checked on it and now everything loaded fine.

Is this just a precursor to certain doom? I've done nothing unusual with the system. In fact I haven't played in about 5 days. I'm still under warranty, I just would hate to have to go through the hassle.

Anybody have any experiences like this? Sorry, I didn't do a search for the three red lights, as I figured it would turn up a librarys worth of information.

Yep, just a matter of time unfortunately. Had the exact same experience on my previous 360.

That sucks man. I am currently on my 6th 360. Get used to doing the exchanges. lol

Hmm..I almost wonder if I should do the exchange now and get it over with.

Sounds like Live being slow might have hung up your console or something. If you can play games for anything longer than 5 minutes, than it was just something odd. The RROD doesn't usually pop up then just go away if it's a real problem.

Try playing a game for a bit without the internet plugged in, which is what is slowing down your blades from loading properly.

Well like the guy said above me you might want to wait it out. But If you are under warranty you might as well just take it in and get a new one.

That happened to me on my launch system. Got the RRoD maybe 6 months after launch then the system lasted almost 2 years.

its gonna die.
I traded mine in after the first time the lights went on for me.
Luckily it worked fine when they tested it at Gamestop. I traded the system in and all my games and got a ps3 and mlb the show 07 for like $300
