i am getting a new ps3 soon,what kind of tv should i get.720p or 1080i.i will cough up the extra money for the 1080i if it really makes a difference in the framerate to some sports games.

The TV doesn't have any bearing on the framerate, that is determined by the game only. And I'm assuming you mean 1080p, because tv's that display 720p can also display 1080i.

sorry about that,i mean 1080p.i heard games like nba 2k8 dont run as smoothly on 1080p compare to 720p.i just needed an opinion.thanks man.i didnt wan to put extra money into a tv if my games didnt play somewhat descent.

If you are going smaller than 50", then get a 720p/1080i, if you are going bigger than 50", then get 1080p.

I totally agree. If cash is a problem then 720p/1080i is still a great option. You can save hundreds of dollars for virtually the same set.
