Just stop. We haven't even had the Day 1 patch.

Re: Subbing in 2nd Team

I’m guessing the formation package doesn’t exist then?

I was up by about 35 points going into the half of a game and the computer subbed in all my second stringers automatically. It's done that in 2 games for me so far.

I was getting blown out one game and my QB and RB were automatically subbed out. I didn't know why or what happened. I thought maybe they got hurt.

Re: Subbing in 2nd Team

I really don’t want or like the game making these subs for me automatically. I’m big on stats and if there’s one thing I want to micromanage as a coach it would be playing time and when I pull my starters. I certainly don’t want to pause the game and spend minutes reordering the depth chart, but given the two extremes, I’d rather do that than have the CPU pull my players out for me.

I don’t expect mass subs to return. But with their focus on wear and tear and everything this is an oversight to not give us more management options, in my opinion.

Re: Subbing in 2nd Team

While finishing up a blowout win I set it on chew clock. I noticed that my qb and running back were subbed out for the backups. Seemed like some defensive linemen had been subbed out too. There may have been more. Those were just the ones I noticed.

Re: Subbing in 2nd Team

does anyone think this is something that would be 'patched'?
IMO not having formation subs, mass substitutions is a MAJOR oversight for this game. The entire point of program building is getting players involved and getting experience (heck, look at any player bio in a university media media guide).

The game is playable. It is entertaining. It is omissions / oversights like this that really shakes my confidence that these people (EA) have any clue what they're doing. It seems as though there was just a rush to get an arcade football game of 4 quarters pushed + mascots & program-specific window dressing. A complete game wasn't on anyone's radar to offer the public.

Definitely not impossible, but I would point to the fact that it took them forever to get mass subs in in the first place. Dont remember when exactly it debuted, but I remember vividly asking for it for years before we finally got it.

Edit: As an aside, I also remember mass subs not working all that great anyway. Yeah it would put the backups in, but there’d still be a bunch of busywork involved to make sure 1st stringers weren’t getting subbed in out of position or being placed into 2nd string slots, etc.

I don’t actually care about any of this.
