M00D's Xbox Dynasty Starter Kit

M00D's Xbox Dynasty Starter Kit

First off let me say this IS NOT the same starter
kit produced by SM27. The goal of SM27's starter Kit is to provide the best dynasty
wide simmed stats possible, and he did a fantastic job.

This starter kit is different in that the main goal was to provide realistic gameplay. Stats were secondary
to gameplay although they are much improved over the default stats.

What this kit includes.

Latest rosters from FKings.

All coaches named correctly.

Every single coaching slider adjusted to provide very realistic gameplay.

Gameplay sliders adjusted to correlate with the coaching sliders.

Sub Sliders Adjusted.

Penalty Sliders Adjusted.

Presentation Sliders Adjusted.

What this kit fixes.

The long ball is dead. The CPU will only attempt the long ball a few times per game, and
sometimes not at all. If you have good coverage your DB's will knock it down without
you having to take control. The long ball is still possible and I believe its
just the right amount now.

Fumble problems are gone. You will not fumble 5 times
a game. In fact you might not fumble even once.

Easy running is gone. You will struggle to avg. 4 yards per carry. You will also struggle to contain the CPU
to 4 yards per carry.

Excessive passing by the CPU is gone. They will play very
similar to their real like counterparts. You will see teams run 40+ times against
you. The CPU will now "Drive the ball". Throw short and Run with the very occasional
longer pass, usually off play action.

If the CPU has the lead they will run it down your throat.

For you to be successful with the run you must pound away, and
things 'might' get easier in the 2nd half.

High scoring is TOTALLY gone. It will
be very rare for the total points of a game to be over 50, and most are much less.

Sim stats are greatly improved but not as good as SM27's. Again, the primary goal
of this starter kit is to provide realistic gameplay with the sim stats being
secondary. Gameplay stats however are dead on.

Insane blitzing by the CPU is gone.
You will have more time to let the play develop and the WR's can actually finish
their route before you are hammered.

Sacks are fixed. YOu might get 2 or 3 sacks
a game and give up that amount also. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending
on how you play. But your not going to see insane sack numbers on either side
anymore.

Completion percentages are around 40% to 60% for the CPU and should be about
the same for the human depending on skill.

Punt and Kickoff returns are gone.
It might happen once or twice a season but not once or twice a game anymore.

I could go on and on but the best thing to do it check it out for yourself.

I did do one thing that is not realistic but I feel I had good reason. I replaced the
Independent Temple Owls with the Montana Grizzlies. I did this for the following
reasons.

1) I use the grizzlies myself
2) After reading various boards for the last few years I've found many people enjoy using the grizzlies.
3) They have a nice stadium, great mascot, and players that can compete with lower lever 1A teams.
4) Many people like to use them as a independent school to control scheduling.
5) Many like to use the Grizzlies because recruiting from Montana is very hard.

If this one instance of non-realism bothers anyone too much, I can post a 'How
To' so that you can create this starter kit yourself without the Grizzlies included.
After all the days of work I just couldn't muster the energy to create two separate
starter kits. I apologize to any Temple Owl fans out there.

This starter Kit is for Xbox Action Replay.

After you get the file copied to your xbox just fire up
the dynasty and pick your team. Then delete the one coach that is included with
the kit(Montana). Do your pre-season duties and play that first game.

By halftime your going to have a BIG ole smile on your face.

About the sliders. The kit comes set on AA/8 min qtrs.

Sliders are a tricky business since everyone has a different level of skill.
So the following may help you decide what to do. You can simply plug in
your current sliders if you like them, everything will still work fine.
I included sliders that work well for me and several others but they may be
above or below others skill level.

If you currently play on the default AA level I highly suggest you
play several games before touching the sliders or any other settings. I used several
references and IMO they are dayum near perfect when coupled with the coach changes.

If you play on the AA level with sliders heavily tilted toward the CPU you
"might" need to tweak the gameplay sliders to your skill or just plug in your
current AA sliders.

If you play on varsity level simply put in your current varsity sliders.

If you play on Heisman simply put in your current heisman sliders.

And of course set the game play to which ever level you desire: Varsity, AA, or Heisman.

Credits:

Sliders - SM27 - He found the perfect settings for the best looking animations. I used this information.
MudTiger - He created a fantastic set of defensive minded AA sliders based on the zero slider principle. I used this information.
locke888 - He created a set of incredible sliders designed to tone down the deep ball. I used this information.

Rosters: 100% of the credit goes to Fkings and all his hard work.

Coach Sliders:

SM27: I gained much insight from his work.
jukeman34: He provided great information on the coaching sliders.

Various other settings:
Thanks to everyone who has ever created a set
of sliders, sub in-out, etc. I pulled info from everywhere.

Click here to download the xbox starter kit for action replay.

After you play a few games please post your results.

For those of you with PS2 or no action replay I can post
a 'how to' later on. I'm too tired right now...Gonna grab a brew and play a dynasty game myself.

Enjoy!

Re: M00D's Xbox Dynasty Starter Kit

Mood:

Are the total scores often less than 50 and the long ball non-existent even in a mismatch? If Nebraska plays Troy State, I don't want the final score to be Nebraska 28, Troy State 3. It should be more like Nebby 65, Troy State 3, with lots of big plays for scores.

Does this package still maintain the integrity of mismatches, or does it tend to narrow the quality gap between teams?

Take care,
PK
