Motion Q

Is it cheating to use the man in motion to get a pre-snap read of man or zone?

I ask because I'm sorta bored with "coach mode" and I don't want to control all players so I'm doing sort of a player lock thing where I only control the QB on offense.

Re: Motion Q

I don't think so. Thats how I usually read if the D is in zone or man.

Re: Motion Q

Not at all. Every coach HS, College, and Pro do it.

Re: Motion Q

Not at all. These days, that is why a lot of teams will come out in one formation then totally switch to another one. Usually taking a bunch of WRs from one side to the other so the defense is forced to show its hand.

In this game though, becausee of the poor AI, I never snap the ball until the CPU is fully able to complete their shiftings and my motion is completely finished. Snapping the ball with a man in motion is definitely cheating.

Re: Motion Q

Thanks for the responses guys. I played a few games this way the other day. I lost to USC with Virginia 35-21. We jumped up to a 14-0 lead and I was like oh man, here we go. However, they chipped away and then opened it up. We didn't run the ball well at all and turned it over 8 times but I hit my IP @ WR several times for nice gains. He had over 200 receiving yards.

Although coach mode is fun, I like the thought of being a player on the team ya know. That's why I'll only control the QB. I make my throw and then watch after that. On options, I'll either keep or pitch but if I pitch, I don't control the HB. On D I control one of my DL and won't switch. On KR, I'll select one of the 2 return men. If they kick it to me then I can return the kick but if they don't kick it to me I watch. When kicking off or punting, I only control the P/K.

It's alot more fun for me to play that way.
