360 video question

just got a new hdtv tv, so i flipped the tv hookup thing for the 360 to hdtv & used the hdtv plugs

however, i cant see the play clock during the game now (i can only see the first digit of it, the rest doesnt seem to fit on the tv....though this new tv is nearly twice as wide as my old tv which didnt have this issue), plus the words on the menus (play week, recruiting, etc) appear kind of blurry

am i missing something here? do i need some kind of cord hooked up to it?

i have a hdtv cable box with the cords connecting the box to the tv, but do i also need some kind of hdmi cable or something?

Just try directly connecting the 360 to the TV using the included component (red, green, blue) cords. I'm guessing its the cable box thats sizing it wrong. It should work assuming your TV is 16:9 format.

Another thing, make sure your TV isn't set on Zoom, Stretch, or similar. It should be on something like Normal.

it is plugged directly into the tv, but i included the cable box info in case thats relevant (not sure if it is or not)

Are you using the component cables?


The red green and blue ones. Don't connect the yellow.

Also, try going into the TV menu and make sure it's not on Zoom or Stretch or whatever as I said before.

i got it, had to change the display settings through 360 console
