4TH DOWNS

Just curious, has anyone blocked a field goal or punt in NCAA 2009? I damn near blocked a field goal last night against UCF.

Re: 4TH DOWNS

I've blocked two punts, one the LOS was the 1 so it was a lot easier. I haven't been that close to blocking a FG, maybe once when I jumped.

I tackled the punter in the endzone for a safety once

I almost got a blocked punt last night. It was as close as you could get without blocking it, the ball went between the players outstretched arms and he fell right at the punters feet. It looked very realistic.

Re: 4TH DOWNS

Yeah I usually run a Safe Punt Return so I havent really tried to block any punts. So no one has blocked a field goal yet?

You'll have better luck blocking a punt with the "Field Goal Return" play. The players are so bunched up in the middle that one or two players will get free & either block the punt or come really close. If you don't block it, you still have a player back to return the punt. Watch out for the fake, though...you'll get burned!

Re: 4TH DOWNS

Try running punt block in real punt block situations like when you have a team pinned back deep. I have blocked 3 of them 2 for safeties, and one for a touchdown. For Field goal blocks I blocked 2 and have had 2 of mines blocked all on long attempts when you have to aim the arrow lower. I also blocked at PAT once but I can't tell you how that happened lol
