Most PS3 games are rendered at 720p, but upconvert to 1080p....GTA IV is, and CH 2K8 as well. I can only speak to those two, b/c I have those. But, they both automatically, regardless of your TV play at 720p when you turn the game on. BUT, if you go into your display options on your PS3, uncheck the 720p option and teh 1080i option, the then games upconvert to 1080p, and look much better.

I've had both versions of GTA IV, and I think the PS3 version set to 1080p looks better than my 360 version set to 1080i.

Bottom line: If other companies can do it, EA can too.

The problem is this would require code specific to the PS3 platform. It would require them to implement it and test it. Considering that the 360 does this internally, I doubt they will set aside the time to test it and implement.

But you're right; Other companies have shown their willingness to do this. It goes right back to what I'm saying in that PS3 development, despite what they are claiming now, is an afterthought.

It's not my opinion. Aside from the unique case in FIFA getting a PS3 platform exclusive feature, it's pretty much fact. All development occurs on the 360 and is then transferred to the PS3.

For the record, I have no problem with this... as long as everything works the same on both platforms. GTA4 is a perfect example.

What ticks me off is that if it was a "false alarm" and there was nothing wrong, then why is it not out? Why is it being held up at all? I am on the verge of returning both NCAA & Madden and the sad thing is it will make no difference in the grand scheme of things because the juggernaut that is EA doesn't give two s%&ts about joe gamer.

And I am one of the lucky ones who knows enough to come to this site to get an upadate and find out that there will be a patch eventually. What about those who don't and think it is just broken and take it back not knowing there will be a patch that (hopefully) will fix the issues with the games.
