Of course a 1080p will look better than a 1080i signal. You're getting twice the info in that signal. For the record, in terms of actual information carried by the signal 1080i < 720p <1080p. A 1080i signal contains less information than a 720p signal because only half the lines are carried for each frame, making it's information load equal to 540p.

Edit: As a side note, how is CH2K8 running for you when you force 1080p? I have a new 1080p set and no longer have the game. I remember the game suffered from slowdown at times even at 720p. I can't imagine the game is smoother at 1080p but I'd still like to hear from someone who tried it.

They do that as a safeguard so you will always have a signal.

It won't display in (insert mode here) if the game does not support it.

To get back on the topic of this thread though, I agree with most, it is disappointing in regards to the patch issues. But I again, want to thank, as many others have, the EA guys for even coming in the forums saying anything, which is as someone stated earlier "above and beyond, the $60 we paid for the game". With that said, I do think that once the 2nd patch comes out the game will be much improved, and with 2010 we should expect a game getting closer and closer to what it was last Gen (as far as gameplay)...

I'm not expecting a huge change in the gameplay department. Just fixing the punt returns and sliders is what I want the most. I'm happy with the game for the most part other than that. If the cpu throws deep a little more (some people have stated this but could be coincidence) I will be very happy.

I just want to play the game in general...its hard to put it in and play now knowing that the game is broken and that there is a "fixable" solution out there..guess Ill have to throw in soul caliber 4 or some mario kart to pass the time...damn you EA i need my college football fix!!!
