Onside Kicks

Does anyone practice onside kicks..
I can never get an onside kick correctly..
I think in all of my gaming experience,
From Madden to NCAA to ESPN 2k's,
I've probably retrieved one onside kick..

I'm not sure its possible anymore.. lol..

Anyone have a Vid or anything..
Or can someone just tell me the correct angle and way to hit it..
I know you're supposed to hit it at the top,
But I must have my angles wrong or something..

Re: Onside Kicks

I just hit it on the top and stop power a little over halfway. It bounces high and works sometimes.

Re: Onside Kicks

Yeah I just did one last night with 8 seconds left in the game to see if i could do it and I almost got it. I kicked the ball about 7/8 to the top and alittle to the right with about 3/4 power and left the direction where it defaults. But ill have to practice it more to get it down.

Last years NCAA seemed really easy to get onside kicks. This years its just about right. I used to practice them all the time and got the hang of it. But not so much any more.

Really its all timing. I like to place it near the top and slightly right. Power just above halfway. I get a few here and there. But even when I dont get them I still always have a chance.

Re: Onside Kicks

I was playing an online dynasty game vs. Auburn. Down 10 with a couple min left. Scored a quick TD, kicked and recovered the onside then went down and won the game. It was crazy. But yeah, about 3/4 up and to the right then I try to stop the meter right at the beginning of the red zone at the top. I've kicked 2, recovered 1 and had a great shot at the other.

I practiced them for a while until I figured out how to kick them right. What you want to do is place your crosshairs as high as you can, and tap it slightly to the right (left if you're kicking with a lefty). Start the power meter up, and stop it as close as you can to the little red section at the top of the power meter without going over. That seems to be the key. Don't go over. Still got to get the recovery, but the kick seems to bounce very well. I'd go to practice mode and try it a bunch of times for yourself.
