Please Help Me With a Few Questions

On past versions on PS2, I completely destroyed this game on All-American. Now I'm playing on varsity on PS3 and I'm still doing a lot of things wrong. Please help me improve my game.


How do you turn off the trophies? It's fluff that I couldn't care less about.

Why do defensive players that I control just bounce off the ball carrier when I try to tackle them?

When I'm in pursuit of a ball carrier and I hit X (defensive assist) my player briefly jerks and changes direction? Should I press and hold the defensive assist or press it repeatedly?

I've never seen the highlight stick do anything other than the truck move. Is my timing off?

I cannot complete a deep pass even with a QB with strong TP. What am I doing wrong?

I can't get a running game going. Highly rated backs are running for less than 4.0 YPC. What gives?

I just played again and got my throat ripped out. The defenders that I control just bounce off the ball carriers. It's fricking ridiculous.
