On the fly audibles - Bring them back please!!

Does anyone remember how, on the PS2, when you were looking through your playbook and could pick audibles on the fly? For instance if you were in the shotgun formation in your book you could press a button, then square and the play that was on screen that you picked would then be an audible once you went back into the game? It was VERY handy for allowing you to have an endless amount of audibles at your disposal.

Here's why I want this back. If I'm in the shotgun formation and it looks like the defense in a dime defense I would like to audible to a shotgun formation rushing play. I don't want to just audible into an I-formation rushing play as the defense then will shift because they pretty much know I'm switching to a rushing play.

This was a great feature that I don't see anyone really calling for to come back but I really think it's desperately needed on next-gen...

I actually believe you get the whole playbook at your disposal this year so you may not have to worry about that. I don't know if that's just for the no-huddle spread though, so I can't say I'm certain.

Yes, that's what they have said. Now, I can understand if they only put this in for the No-Huddle spread, but really, every team and every offense has access to their entire playbook no matter what they play so in 120 Ways To Win, so should we.

I used this feature all the time. I always had 2 pass plays and 2 rushing plays ready to go. Then as soon as I got up to the line, I read the defensive alignment and audibled to the play I thought would work best. I was merciless to the CPU if they ever put the wrong defense on the field. I would just keep running the hurry up so they couldn't sub, but was still able to mix up my play calling.

My friend and I always used this against each other. It got to the point that I would sometimes audible to the play I was already running, but when he saw my QB stand up from under center and change the play, he would shift his defensive formation around in an attempt to counter what I was doing. Sometimes, he'd actually move his defense out of perfect position. I always made sure to let him know when this happened and it always made him mad.

This definitely made home field advantage important though. It was much harder to call that audibles on the road.
