Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

I am enjoying this game quite a bit. Got mine in yesterday.

The ESPN presentation is a thousand times better than anything I've seen from this series, IMO. Actually gives it a little more of an authentic feel.

The gameplay feels much improved. Offensive linemen seem to actually block, instead of get out of their stance, spin around and let a defensive lineman go free to the quarterback.

The running game is improved because of the improved play from the trenches.

So far, so good. I like this a lot more than I liked 07, 08, 09 and 10.

Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

Overall I think the game is great and the best I've played in many seasons of this game.

My main problem on AA is how easy it is for the CPU to throw long bombs, have my coverage in place, then their receivers run backwards to make a play -- constantly. It's ridiculous. One game last night was a nip-and-tuck game between BC and Va. Tech and I lost on 3-4 plays the CPU executed that were just ridiculous. Guess I'm going to have to balance off the sliders to improve my pass coverage.

Otherwise, the presentation, core mechanics and all are terrific.

Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

enjoying the game, using silent nights sliders. i would still like to see a little more separation from db and wrs its really hard to throw the out with out it getting picked off.

my main complaint still is the all out blitz of the defense at times, i dont mind lb blitzing but blitzing right and left corners leaving guy wide open til he get to the safety is annoying.

on the good note i can play with my ends again. had an awesome bullrush up and spinfor the sack. then another play tried to bull rush and i wasn't engaged lineman let momentum push me to the ground

Really? I've played my last 3-4 games on default Heisman and have found it to be a good challenge as far as CPU difficulty. No cheapness that I've seen yet.

Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

Just got the game yesterday, played a couple of exhibitions then started up my dynasty.

First impression is that this game has the best presentation of any game so far, with the game interface as well as the in-game ESPN production.

As far as gameplay goes, I really like the improved running w/ no turbo button, the offensive/defensive line play is much better, and just the general physics of the game seem improved.

My biggest problem so far has been the passing game. Difficulty on both sides of the ball for me. Guess I need to tweak the sliders...

Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

So I got the game last night around 4:30 my wife was out of town working and the kids are all staying the night at their grandma's. It was 1 in the morning before I knew it! I played the game for almost 9 hours straight, no dinner, no bathroom breaks, just 9 hours of NCAA FOOTBALL 11 bliss!
I have only had the game for one night but I am going to go ahead and say it, this is the BEST FOOTBALL GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! Maybe the best game I have ever played period! I have not been more blown away playing a game since the first time I played Madden Football on the Sega Genisis 20 years ago! Are there a few flaws??? Yes but nothing that takes away from me enjoying this game. From the graphics to the gameplay I am just really impressed.
I was this close to calling in work sick today so I could play this game alll day today.
Again I am 37 years old and it took everything I have to not stay home today and play a video game. Thank God I am off all next week!!! lol

Re: NCAA Football 11 IMPRESSIONS ONLY

The more I play the more I feel this game adjusts to your game plan pretty nicely. I just played Clemson -CPU @ BC Eagles-Me. I went up 21-0 at the half , at this point I'm thinking blow out in the second half. I was killing them with my running game. I got the ball first in the second half, first play run up the middle only got 2 yards, next play toss out left stuffed in the back field 3 yard loss, 3rd play quick pass across the middle broken up incomplete. This went on for the entire 3 quarter , I couldn't move the ball at all and I was mixing up my plays a lot. With a little over 3 minutes left in the game I held Clemson to a 47 yard field goal making it 21-17 me. Again I went 3 and out. I punt with 57 second left, Clemson is tearing me up with the hurry up , 7 seconds left 4th and goal from the 7 yard line, pass play , my safety picks it off in the middle of the end zone, Eagles win 21-17. heck of a game.
