OD: Coaches should vote in the coaches poll!

In a recent on-line dynast, I was 4-0 as Notre Dame. I had beaten Washington, Michigan, Michigan State, and Stanford. At the end of week 4, Washington was 1-2, the other three were 3-1. However, I did not get a single vote in either the Media or Coaches polls (I checked the 'more info' which gives the other teams that got votes, but didn't make it into the top 25).

Then it occurred to me -- shouldn't we, as coaches of our dynasty teams, be voting in the coaches poll? Wouldn't it make sense for the (up to) 12 folks who are following the dynasty to have a good feeling for who is good, who is not? Wouldn't a vote make the dynasty coaches feel more invested, more immersed in the season?

I think so! Make this happen for NCAA 12, EA!! Please?

The problem is that people would just vote for their school, or sabotage other users, potentially altering the NC picture by years end.

If implemented properly this could be awesome though.

I COMPLETELY Agree with this and threw it into my early wishlist that I did a few weeks ago. Love the idea.

It's fine that people would vote for their own schools, it happens in real life too. If the 12 coaches voted for the top 10 or whatever, most of it would balance out, unless all 11 coaches conspired against one guy ... which might not even be that unrealistic either if he were a cheaser or something else. The dynasty commish should be able to toggle the setting on and off, and for dynasties with friends or people who know each other, it could add a lot to the game.

I'd love to see more player interaction with the player awards too in Online Dynasty.

Unfortunately, you would have people voting for their team no matter who they were or their record, imo. Because I'm sure, at that point, there would be some program goal about being ranked and people wouldn't be objective.

I think it could actually make the rankings look silly, if you intentionally don't vote for a good team, but put your team as #1.

So I like the idea a lot, but how do you keep stupid votes accountable? Maybe coach integrity?

This would be awesome. Yeah, most people probably would vote for their own team, but that would be neat, online or offline dynasties.

Are the coaches allowed to rank for their own team in real life? I thought they were excluded from that. Maybe not.

I suppose you could implement it in part by giving a ranking as determined by the non-player voters and then allow the players the opportunity to shift some number of teams around. Give them a number of points they can use to change what the prevailing wisdom is. That way it would cost a lot of points (maybe all for that week) to tank a rival.

In the end, if you are only one (or even 12) of all of the coaches voting in the system (the others run by the CPU), it would be hard to tank a team too much. Your vote would only be one of 60 or 100 or however many coaches end up contributing.

I just think it'd be a fun way to feel more connected to the world in the game.

They could make it so you can only vote for the top 5 teams in the poll. That way you can't make a ridiculous vote, and hopefully nobody would mess up the NC picture.
