Why can't EA use the real coaches?

I'm not trying to insult EA, just genuinely curious. I realize the reason for not being able to use the players, but it is also against the rules for the coaches? I mean, they're obviously getting paid by the teams, so I'd assume it'd be perfectly fine for them to get paid by EA.

So was it just a money saving thing by EA, or is there actually a rule against it? I just get so annoyed, even with the edited coaches, how the real life coaches "records" aren't real. Meaning, it's as though every coach was hired in year one of your franchise.

Probably werent able to work out the contract. NCAA basketball has the coaches in it. Probably in the next year or two we will see it.

Any reason you think that? We've had coaches, and the ability to get hired/fired for years now and the 'real' coaches haven't been implemented. Is there an article or something that makes you think in the next year or two we'll see it?

Well.. no.. no article.. call it gut feeling since they added the aspect of coach carousel.. But I have nothing to back it..

My guess is that it has something to do with whoever is responsible with getting that agreement done between EA and the coaches. (not sure if their is a coaches union or not) but honestly its just coming from speculation.

Edit: But it does feel like they are moving towards it. Just cause they added more "personality" to the coaches.

It will come down to licensing. For example, Bill Parcells was never in Madden, and neither is Bill Belichick. The reason is because they don't belong to the coach's union. I haven't checked, but it's possible there is no coach's union for NCAA football.
