Graphics seem "washed out" this year

Its almost like the uniforms are too light and pastel in color. The skin tones and muscle texture seems a bit off too. There also seems to be alot of jaggies. The replays look much better than actual gameplay.

I can't tell if its the lighting or if they dropped the quality of the graphics to help with framerate or something else. I think the graphics take a step back from previous years.


What are your thoughts?

That's the first thing I noticed with this year's game. At first I thought the color on my tv was off, but then I noticed it on my friend and brother's tvs as well. When I was little, my family had one of those old 19" floor model tvs. Ever so often the picture would fade and the colors would look bland and washed out. We would smack it on top a few good times and it was ok again for a while. LOL This game reminds me of that tv. What the heck is wrong with the colors?

I can't tell if its the lighting or if EA really likes Pastel Colors. I feel like coloring easter eggs while I play this game.

Wonder why they took the time and resources to downgrade the graphics.

at least the light bounces off the helmets in every direction during cut scenes that I quit watching a week after the game came out

at least we got 3d grass, it totally makes up for the gameplay

The easter egg reference by fistofrage is spot on. I hadn't thought of it that way, but now that he mentioned it I can see it.

I have to agree that this game something just doesn't seem quite right. I look at the helmets and they don't shine in day games, but night games they look fine. West Virginia's blue helmets seem a bit to light kind of like a pastel color.

It's certainly a step back graphics-wise from 2011. The field during gameplay looks as bad as it has ever look on current gen consoles. Reminds me of the PS2 days when I look at the field.

During cut scenes everything seems to look better. I popped in 2011 the other night and you can tell a difference.

Every the generic player portraits look worse this year. They are grainy and Jaggies are everywhere.

Not where I thought we would be in 2011.
