Lower rating for freshmen?

Looking through the teambuilder rosters, it seem that freshies are rated a bit lower than normal. Some are of course overrated, I saw an 85. Anyone else notice this or am I crazy?
P.S. I am all for lower ratings across the board but it looks like freshmen are lower even factoring in progression.

Re: Lower rating for freshmen?

Darius Hamilton is a 78

I'll take it.

Chris Muller at 67 is LOL to me. Especially for a borderline 5* OL

Same with John Theus, a consensus top 5 tackle is a 72.

Re: Lower rating for freshmen?

Depends on the school, some schools I am seeing Freshmen with crazy high ratings. Then I am seeing some players that rode the pine all last year that are now starters with INSANE high ratings.

Re: Lower rating for freshmen?

I never even bother paying attention to it to be honest....

It's not like they (EA) are really trying to be accurate on the rosters. It's not even worth the time IMO to stress over it or debate it because NCAA is just random ratings numbers thrown out there by EA.

Best thing you can honestly do is tweak players yourself anyway...
