How is your dynasty going

Beat UAB to improve to 7-4 heading into the CUSA Championship game against......Tulsa. Scroll up to see what happened the last time we played. Lol

Check out how Chris Johnson went off again. He’s only a SO too. It’s sick that he scored 6 TDs against UAB but he’s got 97 speed and the only person on their D even close has 93. So, when Chris hit the corner it was over.

What’s weird is that Reggie Bush is the only HB Heisman candidate. He’s got over 300 fewer yards and 7 fewer Total TDs than Chris Johnson. Maybe it’s because he’s a SO and 06 came during a time when they weren’t giving SO any love for the Heisman.

And remember, this is all coach mode. I’m the HC/DC and Corso is my OC.

Anyway....

Re: How is your dynasty going

The Battle for Texas

January 8, 2368
San Antonio, TX
By Mark Marks IV

While the world looked forward to who would be crowned the National Champions, pundits exclaimed that the eyes of Texas gazed upon to determine if Texas or Baylor would rule the state for a generation.

Second year coach Kyle Skinner had brought a formerly moribund Baylor program to the precipice of greatness. The Baylor program had 18 wins in the half decade preceeding Skinner's arrival; 22 years since Baylor's last Big 12 title; 28 years since Baylor last won a New Year's Six bowl. Carried by Heisman Trophy winner, Brendan Miller, Skinner's power spread rushing attack had improbably led to Baylor winning it's first game in Austin in 22 years (49-20), blowing out Colorado (63-14) in the Big 12 title game, a Fiesta Bowl win for the first time in 116 years and Baylor's eight trip to the title game.

After a painful setback in week 11, the Longhorns would beat eventual ACC Champions Miami in week 13. The game was a difference between the 11-2 Hurricanes making the top four and a 11-1 Texas. After Florida State coach Stan Robinson called the Peach Bowl matchup with Texas "the de facto title game"; Texas stunned the Seminoles to set up the all Texas rematch at the Alamo.

The Texas defense clearly had schemed to stop the Baylor rushing attack, Miller accounted for his lowest yardage output of the season, but senior running back Tyler Oliver stepped up (19 carries, 144 yds, 3 TD, 4 rec, 37 yds, 1 TD). "I asked Ty, to redshirt last year," Coach Skinner explained, "I needed him to come back for a fifth year, now we know why. He carried us to this moment."

After a vicious stiff arm by Oliver leading to a score, Baylor took a 21-7 lead. Texas would intercept Miller twice and eventually roar back to take a 35-28 lead with a minute left in the game.

"This was the heartbreak everyone was waiting for," remarks noted college football historian Mark Marks III, "there's Florida State scoring with 18 seconds left in 2079, Miami and Notre Dame blowing the doors off them in 2287 (41-14) and 2082 (49-17). Baylor just blew a 14 point lead and a minute left, not a chance. Good run, Kyle Skinner probably takes the Notre Dame job in the offseason and Baylor goes back to the sewers. Like I said before the season, they're the most hyped seven win team I've ever seen!"

Brandon Miller led a masterful drive to tie the game. In overtime, Oliver took over and scored on Baylor's first possession with just two carries. Finally facing 4th and 16, with the season on the line, Texas fell short. The Baylor Bears were losers no more. No one knows what the future holds for Texas and Baylor. Oklahoma is three years removed from a national title. Kyle Skinner turned down overtures from Notre Dame to sign a six year extension, it's no secret that Skinner longs to coach at his alma mater, but Nebraska has Patrick Edwards who is two years younger.

Kyle Skinner has proven to be an offensive mastermind, he has now coached Heisman winners at Rutgers and Baylor. "Wilson and Miller were transfers, we need to see Skinner develop his players," explains Mark Marks III, "He already has two top 15 classes, and Texas just brought in #18 this year. Oklahoma #49, Baylor could run the conference for the next few years."

The rematch w/ Tulsa in the conference championship game looked much like the game earlier in the season...we LOST.

How is your dynasty going

After ULM goes up 14-0 on a 45-yd TD pass and a 62-yd Int return in the 1st qtr I expected the route to be on. Thanks to Chris Johnson’s running ability we went into the 2nd qtr only down 14-7.

ULM went up 21-7 but a Shankweiler to Roach 47-yd bomb made the score 21-14 at the break.

Near the end of the 3rd qtr ULM extended their lead, 28-14.

The 4th qtr was all about Chris Johnson. The SO HB scored from 24 yards out just 22 secs into the 4th to bring the score to 28-21, ULM. Just under 2 mins later he took a punt back 76 yards to knot the score at 28. Following a late punt and a 39-yd completion from Shankweiler to Roach, Johnson scored his 3rd TD of the 4th qtr from 5 yards out putting us up 35-28 w/ 0:31 left and ULM having all 3 of their timeouts.

Our defense HELD and we got the New Orleans Bowl W. We finish the season 8-5 (6-3) completing 2 of my contract goals!

Re: How is your dynasty going

Yes sir the Pirates got that bowl win. San Jose State beat Louisiana Tech. They did have 300 yards passing but also threw six picks. This was a revenge game for us. We lot to them last season when they were 0-5. They beat us and won the WAC with 5 losses but 4 of those were out of conference. Update tomorrow.

The team that cost the us the WAC title last season deserved a beatdown. QBs threw for lots of yards but also some picks too.
