Re: Football Strategy

cover 2 is unbeatable. even if you go to post routes all you have to do is take manual control of the safety and sit on them, easy picks.

Its also cheeze when the CPU makes a one handed grab in triple coverage thrown by a quarterback who'se being hit by 2 linebackers at the same time. Its the only way to counter the CPU's "gayness".

Short passes to the back setting up one on one situations out on the flat, also corner routes by the TE and and maybe a comeback route by the WR forcing the corner to either stay at home or play the corner route you can then squeeze it in to the TE or hit the WR for a short gain which can turn into a big gain if there is a missed tackle..

Re: Football Strategy

Another good play to beat the Cover 2 is the middle screen, not sure if it was in NCAA 05 or if its in this years game, but i've been playing madden and its a great play.

Another great way I have found to break Cover 2, not sure what the formation is called but it looks like this

----TE-T-G-C-G-T-----WR--WR--WR
-----------QB
-----------RB

its called ACE Trips maybe?

take the far reciever and assign him the L2 hot route, quick slant

Usually on a cover 2 the opponent with bump because if the CB gets beat theres safety help, anyways call hike while holding R2 to see your play and if your WR releases off the bump inside throw it right away, easy completion

It works under any formation really but when i do that one above they usually switch to a man which makes it easier

Just curious, but if you have 3rd and long, and complete a pass like that, do you re-load the game? Or do you just accept that it was a great play by your WR?

cover two is not unbeatable, esp in 3 wide sets

two WRs to the left, one to the right. have far left run a corner, insidle slot run a post, and far right run a corner, and all you have to do is make you reads.

Re: Football Strategy

I like to start utlizing my Tight End when defenses start with the cover 2. A couple of hitch routes using Leonard Pope can definitely get teams back into the zone state of mind
