My Xbox just got fixed so I started it up but every once in awhile it would say reconnect the controller and all that, yet it was fine. I havent used the system for awhile, I tried blowing out any dust in the controller port maybe I will try again.

My question is should I just get a new controller or is it something that will just stop, as of now I just play PS2 but I fixed my xbox for NCAA. Any help with this would be great.

My nephew had the same problem. He thought it was his XBOX but it did the same thing in my XBOX. So he bought a new controller and everythings good.
Do you have a second controller to try. If both do it then it's the XBOX.

I would try a new extension cable before buying a new controller.

I had that problem one of my controllers for a long time and then suddenly I check the cord where it attatched to the controller...one of the wires had torn. I think it's caused by rolling up the controllers.

That is what I have come to the conclusion of since the controller was rollled up and stayed that way for about 5-6 months.
