3 step drops does anybody adhere to this?

what I mean is do you when you drop back make sure you take actual three step drops? I have started to do this and I have found that the timing is pretty good with the receivers, previously I never paid any attention but I noticed on instant replay I would always take a 4 step drop, which spoiled the timing of my terrible right tackle. Now with the 3 step drop I force myself to get rid of the ball quicker and am avoiding alot of the super blitzes that have plagued me for the last few weeks. I just wish there was some sort of button to make my qb set his feet like the CPU can.

Yes, it's very important to do this for shorter routes. Sometimes, near the goal line, if I have one on one coverage with a DB, and my WR is running a fade route, I'll take a one step drop and loft it. Or if I'm running a deeper pass play, I'll take a5 or (rarely) a seven step drop. There's nothing set in stone as to how far to drop for each route, but its something you can figure out if you pay attention to what works and what doesn't. Of course, the DB's can always jam a WR at the line and throw that timing way off too.

I've traditionally always done a five-step drop, as I tend to really air it out when I pass (not always successful, but when I can read the coverages right I can get into a rhythm quickly). Might try the three-step drop out some and see if it helps my short passing game any.
