Is there any game ever more anticipated than NCAA football?

In reviews and people like us who are hardcore but the general public still prefers the pro game.

Without question for me it was the first year the VC team went full bore with the ESPN license with ESPN NFL Football. I remember watching the video clips in amazement. At that point it was the most realistic looking football game I had ever seen.

I would have to say my anticipation for NCAA 2007 (360) is running a very close second. I must have watched the video clips for this game about 100 times.

NCAA is by the the biggest console game anticipation-wise for me every year. Every once in a while a PC game comes along that I look forward to more (currently Spore has me very intrigued), but nothing surpasses NCAA on consoles. Gran Turismo is the only game, for me, that even comes close.

It was the same thing for me with ESPN NFL 2K5. The first 2K football game I ever owned was NFL 2K3 - thought it was solid. Then ESPN NFL came out and I thought it was amazing. I was following the progression of 2K5 forever until it finally came out, and it didn't disappoint.

But yes, NCAA 07 is a close second to that for me.

Around here NCAA is definitely the most anticipated. I think NCAA football really lends itself well to video games and thats why people like it. It is a lot easier to go through seasons in college because of the shorter schedule and lack of playoffs. Also you have a lot of roster overturning since players can only play 4 years max, so it keeps things fresh and interesting.
