If I'm looking at the same play (1st and 10 Tenn at their own 40, complete pass down the right sideline to #3), I'm not seeing what your seeing. To me, suction blocking is when a defender goes out of his way (oftentimes moving away from the ballcarrier) to engage a blocker instead of taking a direct path.

Vandy's #94 didn't have an unimpeded path to the QB, UT's RG #78 was in position between him and the QB (because he had thrown his man #54 to the ground).

What am I missing here?

it was a replay graphic from a TD. 54 spins off his first man and on his way to the QB, goes into a Olineman. youre confused, i think.
