Because we all find fun in different things.

After the first day or two, I won't be concerned about it, but I always watch some CPU vs. CPU footage when I first get a sports game. It gives me a chance to see how the game looks & plays without having to control it.

Again, you buy a video game to "look at it without having to control it"? So how about this. You pay me $60 and I will make a DVD of some of my gameplay clips and send the DVD to you. That way you can look at it and not have to control anything?

When I first get a game, I usually watch the computer play the first 5 minutes, so I can see the animations and different things that are going on with a new game. You can't take in everything in if you're playing. It's like being the driver or the passenger.

You are missing the point. It's not like we go out and buy this game for $60 to watch games. We all PLAY the game, but many have different uses for the ability to allow the computer to play against itself.

I guess we can agree to disagree. To me it just seems like a waste of time, but to each his own. I'm with njskillz on this one.

I don't use it in NCAA, but I do use it once a year in Madden, and it was missing in 360 Madden last year too. I sim the Super Bowl and have it on my TV during my party before the game starts. Up to last year (since I couldn't do it), the game was 0-7 since I had started it.

Re: Why can't you play cpu vs cpu on "07" 360?

If watching a cpu game between Notre Dame and USC is like watching paint dry, wouldn't it be described the same way if I watch a real game on a saturday afternoon? I think what a lot of people don't understand about those of us that like to watch cpu games is, we love football... we love all of the pagentry and the excitment of football.... especially college football. We watch cpu games for the same reasons we watch real games. These games that come to us on our consoles are pretty complex pieces of software. They can simulate, almost to the tee, the sports we love so dearly. Cpu games are all unique and varied just like the real games. These are not games of tic tac toe we're watching. The outcomes are always in doubt. The scores are always different from game to game. And the presentation value is sky high for a game as beautiful as NCAA2007.

I think EA is on the wrong track with their football games. The gameplay in their games are coming along nicely. But they are taking away the spirit of why we all love football in the first place. We get our love of football from how it is presented to us on tv. That's where this love affair comes from. I am all for a different perspective in games, and trying to get us down to the field level is a good idea. But I don't want them to sacrifice the broadcast perspective. That where my love of football comes from.

Having a coach mode and cpu games is more valuable in a sports game than many may realize. It's what made NFL2K5 stand out from the rest. That game had a lot of problems, but it is legend because it included everything we loved about a broadcast game in it. I think EA should take note of this. Some of the gripes about their football games relate to the broadcast feel in their games. Radio announcer, lack of replays, and no cpu games all are tied to our love of television football.

As an older gamer here, I have a simple motto; As I get older I realize that I no longer PLAY video games... I EXPERIENCE them. And the more time passes, the experience in the games I play are becoming equally important as the gameplay.
