360 Patch

I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer to this, so I started a new thread. I bought a new 360 and the NCAA game.
Have never played any other game on it except NCAA. Watched a DVD or two on it and that's it. Probably logged over 40 games on NCAA including a season. I was in year two and during instant replay the screen froze on me. The whole thing locked up and blinked. I've only headrd of instances but never thought it would happen to me. (BTW, I never hooked up to XBox Live so it has nothing to do with online) I ended up with the dreaded three red lights blinking. I took it back and got a new 360. Haven't played yet.

My question, does the patch prevent this from happening?
Is the game bad? Is it safe to play on the new system?

i had the red blinking lights happen to me when i was booting up ncaa and i thought o no. I unplugged my 360 and reooted the game this time it worked. i have played 3 games since. so far so good. is te red lights your referring to the light that is usually green around power button. Anybody think i'll have a problem down the road. Glad I bought a extended warranty from best buy.

The red lights I am referring to are usually green, there are four and they form the circle when it powers on. Usually they blink read to display an error of some sort, some completely correctable. But three red blinkers means needs internal service by the manufacturer (according to the manual).

Anyway, I never had any red buttons or errors of any kind until this one. It makes me feel real uneasy about playing it. From what I've read it seems to be a problem with the NCAA game and not the XBox 360. Anyway, anyone know what the patch addresses? Should I plug the 360 into LIve?

so your saying they can blink red and it not necessarily be a death red.

According to the manual yes. You'd have to read it, but it's simple stuff like 2 red lights means check the AV cords, different combos like that. It didn't list anything for three reds blinking though, it just said all other blinking combos other than listed means the 360 requires internal fixing by the manufacturer.

The main thing i keep getting is a dirty disk error 1 out of 4 or 5 games. very frustrating got all the way to the 4th quarter of baylor tcu when i got my last one
