Oregon State won the Fiesta Bowl in 2000, so that's 4.

Decades are years ending in 1 through years ending in 0. 2000 is part of the 1991-2000 decade.

Nitpicking, but so is The Soldier.

Re: Some Ratings

Allow me a crack at this. And, just to shake things, I'm going to assume that an SEC team plays somewhere other than home for an OOC game - I know, I know, it never happens.

USC - Florida = USC. Granted UF is the last year's champion. UF has a new QB, sketchy RB situation, new secondary, new LB corp, new DL. Boy, the more I write, the more I think this is a USC romp.

Cal - Ark = Cal in a toss-up. Desean Jackson can be just as big a game-breaker as McFadden. Close but I'm going with Cal

UCLA - LSU = LSU. UCLA returns nearly every starter. LSU will have new WRs but a tough D.

Oreg St - Auburn = Auburn in a toss-up. Oreg St could play them darn close though.

Oregon - Tenn = Oregon. Dixon is a 3-yr starter, Ainge is maturing as well. Stewart is a beast. Tenn will be much improved, but I'm going Oreg.

Ariz St - UGA = Toss-up. Both were over-rated last year.

Wash St - Kentucky = Wash St.

Arizona - S Carolina = S Carolina in a toss-up. S Car has got an offense in year 3, Ariz has an offense in year 1. Equal talent.

Wash - Alabama = Washington in a toss up. Bama w/o tradition and Saban = Kentucky.

Stanford - Ole Miss = Ole Miss. Nearly a toss-up. Both are terrible. Ole Miss coach is in year 3, Stanford in year 1. Ole Miss in a close one.

Pretty even. USC is better than any SEC team (on paper, right now) so I give the edge to the Pac-10.

I agree with most of what you said, however I can't see Ariz. St. keeping up with UGA they have more talent and are better coached. Also I think Alabama would beat Washington and beat them soundly. Alabama has more talent and a far better QB than Wash.

There's being a homer, and then there's you.

1. Cal could very well beat Arkansas, but Jackson isn't in the same area code as McFadden.

2. Dixon is a 3 year starter, Ainge is a 4 year starter. Neither is an elite player, but Ainge for his career has been better.

3. UGA skeet skeets all over Arizona St. They aren't even close as programs or teams.

Re: Some Ratings

I agree that UGA would destroy ASU, but I agree with the rest of what radoslaw said.

Re: Some Ratings

I dont know if anyone brought this up, but I find it interesting that, of those teams, there are only 7 teams with defenses rated higher than their offense.

The game was on January 1st 2001, but it doesn't really matter.
