Re: How do I run the spread option?

I was running with the Boston College and Duke playbooks for awhile and their running plays are fairly boring. Dives and stretches for the most part with a counter out of the I formation. The Cal playbook has some interesting running plays in it that utilize more traps and misdirection. Not sure if I would call it really diverse but its interesting.

I also like running with D-Mac at Arkansas in the "Wildhog" formation. I've had some great slugfests against LSU and Auburn with them

Hehe, you just described the Hawkeye's playbook. They have at least 30 variations of the same stretch play...

I love my Hawks, but using their offense on the game is just excrutiating...

Re: How do I run the spread option?

texas has a pretty good and diverse pb- i, offset, and single back mixed in w/ lots of shotgun (the zone read is in every shotgun formation except the 5 wide).

Taking the players out of the equation (I use a 1* team in my dynasty) how does Oregon's playbook compare with WVU's?

I think they got a little something special, with their "pistol formation" but outside of that I don't know how much different it is from WVU

I'm not sure what the pistol formation even is. I'm gonna have to check that out.

The thing I love about WVU's offense is that you can be really diverse even when running the ball on 75% of the snaps.

1) You can hand off to the HB.

2) There's a ton of option and misdirection option plays, especially out of the shotgun, which makes it easy to run with the QB.

3) There's a pretty good mix of WR running plays.

4) Finally, there's a few pro set and shotgun pro set formations that have 2 backs (HB and FB).

It's possible for me to run the ball 10-15 times with 4 or 5 different players using this offense, and that's not even taking into account auto-subs or formation subs.
