Is zone better for the pass or the run?
Same for man to man, which is better?

I have the best success using man-to-man against the run and pass.

I play a super conservative type of defence and tend to favor a Cover 3 shell, with myself playing the SS and allow myself to move up and help against the run or blitz if need be.

With Cover 3 I can cover the deep parts of the field and force the CPU to drive down the field on me.

I tend to think less about zone vs. man per se and more about aggressive vs. passive. That is, I tend to stay away from anything passive unless it's 3rd and long. That said, whether a given play is zone or man is pretty much inconsequential.

I tend to play man far more often if I'm expecting a run and generally have pretty good success at having my LB's make tackles.
