Re: EA Sports: Playbook Additions Blog

"Pistol 4WR Trips is another of the new formations that stood out during our film study. This formation can be found in Nevada's playbook."

This is what really excited me about this blog...apparently, the PISTOL 4WR TRIPS formation is only in the Nevada playbook...this is how you can tell that ea has really given us "Team Specific" playbooks...it would have been easy for ea to say,"You know what, our film study shows us that this formation is used by Nevada, but they are the only team that uses it, so it's not worth our trouble to include it in the game." ---it would have been VERY easy for them to do that...but they stayed true to their word and added this formation, and truly made a team specific playbook for Nevada...Big props to Anthony White and ea.

Re: EA Sports: Playbook Additions Blog

Some very cool plays added.

I like the motion choice/motion PA in the video with Missouri. The Shotgun Normal Y Slots also sounds cool, shotgun with a TE in the slot.

Mesh looks like a money play.

Re: EA Sports: Playbook Additions Blog

Kind of a homer comment, but after all the success Oregon had with Chip Kelley's creative take on the the spread option last year, I was surprised to see some screens of Oregon lined up in the pistol formation from Gary Crowton's offense.

Yeah I know, I was expecting to see some more Oregon love, instead there wasn't any. I remember when Boise State had their genius plays EA was quick to jump on those, and yet Dennis Dixon and the rest of the Ducks ran a highly successful offense and it gets no mention

Re: EA Sports: Playbook Additions Blog

Very very cool read.

As mentioned above, I just hope that "Mesh" isn't an almost guaranteed money play.

Running THAT Pass pattern with little to no pass rush is pretty much defensive suicide.
