Before I get knocked around too much on my beef, keep in mind this had happened to me when I promised a MLB he would get solid PT and become Freshman AA. He did these things, and became 2nd team national AA, and was by far the best rated player @ his position on my team, but he still wanted to jet. I got him back, but I had to use my precious recruiting minutes to do so.
i never had anyone transfer away from my school. even if i didn't fulfill the promise. I didn't know it was broken?

i did notice that Promises were really powerful, when i made a promise to someone, i basically got them to sign no matter what.

Promises aren't the only thing that effects a transfer desire. That isn't a bug, he had other reasons.

Examples, please. The only few times someone transfered was either due to not getting on the field enough(and I upheld the promise by him playing nearly every snap) or someone not getting PT that I didn't even make a promise to(there were just simply more players above the random guy on the depth chart). I've promised Freshman AA, guaranteed a Conf. 'ship, Top 10 first year, etc and was never able to fulfill them. There was not a hint of a transfer due to those broken promises. The reasons were not getting to see the field, and it seems like there was a just wanting to move on, but they hadn't been promised anything(the looking to move on guys). That's in 20+ seasons.

That is just my experience, so I wondered myself if it was a little off. Transferring out was really rare. Getting transfers to want to come to my school was even more of an oddity.

I'd like some examples too. My first year at ULM I landed a 4* CB with a promise of early PT. He started the whole year as my #2 CB and even made all-conference and freshman all-american. But he tried to bolt that year, and the next season.

I've seen some problems too. I promised a punter early playing time. He started at punter the entire year. At the end of the year it said I did not complete that promise, and he transferred. I didn't understand.

Maybe he was tired of playing in the Bayou?

JK...perhaps he thought he could get more NFL attention at a bigger school or something?
