PS2 Impressions?

I would love to hear peoples impressions of the PS2 version. I popped in 08 (PS2 version) right after playing the PS3 09 demo and actually got stoked for the PS2 version. I've pretty much written off the 09 (next gen) version based on the demo but I will be buying the PS2 version. Are there any "old schoolers" like me out there?

Re: PS2 Impressions?

I help run the Cat-Griz Insider blog and we'll be covering PS2 (and hopefully later in the week PSP) versions of the game. We'll be mostly focusing on FCS teams with screenies and video and impressions/review. We are tossing around the idea of youtubing a full game between Montana and Montana State.

From what I hear they at least updated the rosters (for the most part). I also hear they finally put Samford in the right conference and changed the A-10 to the CAA. They still don't have teams like Northern Colorado, who has been a Big Sky member for three years now...

I'll be getting the PS2 Version from **llmart at midnight, so I'll have it shortly.

If anyone wants to ask some questions go ahead. Not sure how well I will do as I'm a NCAA newb. My brother loves Ncaa and prefers last-gens version like I prefer Last-gen Madden.

Re: PS2 Impressions?

If I was to get the ps2 version for the ps3, do I need some adapter of some sort to make saves. ps2 stuff can't be saved on the HD, right? I'm strongly considering this for the first time ever...ps3 version sounds horrible. Also, if you have the ps2 version, can you load a roster from the flash drive?

Re: PS2 Impressions?

no it can be saved on the ps3 because there is a virtual ps2 memory card in it.

however, you can't take a ps2 roster file and open it on the ps3 without converting it into a .psv file. to do that you will indeed need some sort of adapter.

I wish xbox360 had backwards compatibility hardware instead of software. Looks like they are done with backwards compatibility. I guess it wouldn't matter since madden is only coming out on xbox.
