So Basically EA Uses The Consumer As The Game Testers.

Pretty clever strategy.

They release an unfinished product, let the hardcore gamers find all the glitches and serious gameplay issues. Let them post about all these glitches and gameplay issues on message boards such as this one. Then they gather all that information and release a couple of patches. I guess it beats spending the money to hire actual game testers. Smart move!

You nailed it right on the head. All the games are the same. I hope the new Madden isn't the same old story. Over the past years ive been in forums complaining why we still have to deal with sub-par games being released, and i get reprimanded, or banned. I dont give a Rats A-- anymore, this is rediculous having to put up with sliders that are completely screwed up, roster editing that causes freezing, and everything else that shouldn't be an issue in video gaming anymore. So kick me out if you want but EA is a total abortion as far as im concerned. Anyone that feels this continuation year after year of constant problems with these games is okay, must be a moron, or you have some interest in the company themselves.

You do realize why you get banned don't you? If you go against the grain and actually speak the truth, the big dawgs don't like that too much.

You're right, this thread will be closed, but the original poster is right too. Why pay people to test the game when the consumer (all of us) will pay EA to test it for them. I do appreciate the EA guys on the board that come here for suggestions, and I'm very thankful that a patch will be released VERY SOON, but it's still BS this game came out with the significant flaws it has.

And I'm in before the lock!

At least they admit in the Ideal Patch thread

Re: So Basically EA Uses The Consumer As The Game Testers.

The thing is I'm not trying to bash EA with this thread.....well I guess I am but it is what it is. I've been a huge EA supporter since the Sega Genesis days, even when 2K was making football games I still preffered Madden. It's just that this is gonna be my first year playing NextGen football games because all the previous NextGen versions were apparently so awfull. And here comes another season and it seems like LastGen is still better...heck PlayStation 1 seemed better than this. I just get the impression that since they got the exclusive football licences they're really not putting any effort in their games anymore since we have no other alternatives. Believe me if 2K was still making football games, Madden and NCAA would be much better games than what they are...but I'm sure that issue has been beaten to death. By the way, I'm not kidding when I say they're using the consumers as their testers, I honestly feel like that's what they're doing.

I don't think thats the case. This roster glitch is going to cost EA money. Some people are going to return their game b/c of it, and that's why this first patch is coming as fast as lighning.

I think they'd come out cheaper to hire tester and pay them 12 bucks an hour rather than to have 1,000 people demanding their $60 dollars back. That's not to mention the other AI issues that may drive borderline customers completely away.

I dont know how this happened, but to say they want us to test is not the case.
