So how's he PS2 version????

Haven't seen much chat about that. I still play 07 and was wondering if it's worth the $$$ to upgrade to 09. Don't plan on buying next gen for another year.

I like it so far. Some things I have noticed that please me:
-Super sim works correctly. This is big for me because I am strictly an offline dynasty player
-The lineplay seems to be better
-The amount of pre-snap options makes the game deep.

Just a lot of little tweaks that make it better than '08 Last Gen, which was a good enough game as it is.

For 40 bucks I am pleased. I wish that EA would get its act together with the Next Gen because I would like to upgrade. Its sad that I have to play the PS2 version on my PS3.

I agree. I was ready to buy a PS3 is the posters on this board said it was up to snuff but it sounds like all in all its a disappointment. Is 09 Ps2 much better than 07 ps2- worth the upgrade?

Re: So how's he PS2 version????

Funny finding this thread here, as I just tried to play a game on ps3 after spending about a week on the ps2 version.

Unplayable. I didn't think I'd do this, but I'm trading in NCAA and NOT purchasing Madden this year. The "pitter-patter" of players across the field, the unrealistically slow speed of gameplay and animations, and the unresponsive control are too much. Next gen EA football is in shambles.

The ps2 version is far and a way the better choice if you own a ps3. Other than non-gameplay add-ons (stadium sounds, etc.), the only areas in which the ps3 version outshines the ps2 are roster size (80 v. 70, I think) and player model graphics. Animations, responsiveness of control, and overall game speed on the ps2 are much better than on the ps3. And then there's overall presentation value -- next gen Dynasty mode is just plain frickin' boring. Never do you feel like you've entered a separate gaming environment like in the ps2 version. The entire ps3 is just a mess of different menus, all looking the same.

If you just own a ps2, I'd say it would be worth the $40 to upgrade.

I'm sure I'll get flamed by people who stand by "next gen," but if you have a ps3, rent NCAA for ps2, give it a week, try to work around the Jump the Snap Crap (the only really glaring gameplay flaw). Then go back to the ps3 version, and grade its gameplay alone next to that of the ps2 version.

See you at the trade-in window.

Re: So how's he PS2 version????

I have just about given up on the 360 version of NCAA 09. I will hold on to it a little more but I am severely disgusted with EA's Next Gen offerings of NCAA and Madden so far. Today I went out and bought NCAA Fooball 06 for the ps2. Ya it is old, but it was $3 and I want to make sure I still enjoy the ps2 NCAA feel before I buy NCAA 09 for the ps2.

I spent some time last night over on ncaastrategies.com and went into the ps2 section. The guys over there are proclaiming NCAA 09 to easily be the best in the series (much better than the ps3/360 versions and the best that the ps2 has ever seen). One of the big things changed were the persuit angles, and they added the Super Sim for the ps2 version which is a great feature which allows you to play a game and if you want you can switch to a sim mode in case the game turns out to be a blow out. I used it in the past with the 360 version and that feature is great.

Re: So how's he PS2 version????

I should also add that I won't be an early adopter again. Meaning, I bought a 360 console on launch day and I have since bought a ps3 also. I am a big NCAA Football and Madden gamer and eagerly wanted the next gen football experience. Unfortunately, I think it takes EA a good 4-5 releases on a console before they really put out a fantastic playing game.

I am sticking with the ps2 NCAA for now and when they put out a good version on the 360/ps3 I will switch at that time. When the next consoles come out I won't be eager to by one.

Welcome to the ps2 version, by far the best in the entire series, next gen included. If ONLY there were a way to get rid of Jump the Snap, the game would be as close to football heaven as we have ever gotten.

I miss the days of there being no "gimmicks" each year. Yes, I'm talking about you Home Field Advantage, Jump the Snap, Momentum, Motivation and Impact Players.
