Thats awesome, ie never been fired but ive had some bad seasons with my Idaho dynasty. The first year I was 4-8 and the 2nd year I was 6-6. No bowl games at all. I didnt even think you could get fired.

When do they fire you, at the end of the season or some where in the middle?

Mine was end of season. It was pretty cool getting fired for doing bad. Made me have to try harder than in the past when I could just suck for a year or two then build them into powers with ease. I dunno, adds realism I suppose. Sucks, but pretty cool too. :P

I finally got there. It seems its a new coach and he has a 0-0 career record. Maybe it is someone from the inside or a high school coach

I Ran it at Northern Illinois with a good RB and no receivers and might be why I kept losing. But I had some good ones coming in. ONE MORE DAMN YEAR and I couldve had them looking real good. I was so excited about Henton transferring over from tOSU. He was the perfect QB for me.
I would run either a balanced pass offense or the spread like you suggested. Use short to innermediate passes to keep act like a running game. Then, you can take shots downfield to stretch the defense and also open up running lanes.

Good idea. I played my first game as a Cardinal. We lost 17-14 to #24 Oregon but it was at Oregon. Had the feel of a real game and I worked my butt off to lose by 3. lol. The 2 LB's I picked up late before the season are studs. I got San Jose State next and I am thinking blowout. I ran the ball 19 times for 67 yds in the game. Just not good enough to cut it. Im not good at running at all. I try to wait for blockers but then its too late. I try to burst in holes but they fill up as soon as I do. I cant break a tackle. I get caught from behind sometimes when I do break one. Whats up with that..

Here are my tips for running:

* use slide protection

* leave speed burst alone unless you are breaking away. The only time I use speed burst is when I am in the clear or I might tap it to get to the corner or into an opening hole. Other than that, I leave it alone.

* use your blockers

* just because you call a run to the right, doesn't mean you have to run to the right. Don't be afraid to cutback to open field or open holes. If you have 5 blockers on the right but the defense has 6 or 7 defenders in that area, you're going to lose the battle more often than not.

Just my quick tips for running.

Hmm..not using the speed burst might help. I go all out speed burst 95% of the time. lol thanks!

Re: That sucks..well it will be alright I guess

I really enjoy hearing about peoples experiences like this. I started a franchise with Baylor and had a poor first season. Had like 3 or 4 wins, but somehow pulled a top 25 recruiting class out of my rear end and went 9-4 with a bowl win over Washington. The bad part is that the core of my team all graduated the after that second season and I was left with not very much... and not as good a recruiting class. Third year I win 5 games, no bowl, but get offered a 2 year extension... I decided not to take it and go out to see who wants me on the open market... and I chose to go with Army, even though they were ranked 118th.

Get a great recruiting class, and somehow pull out a 13 and zip season with a bowl win over Boise State. Finish the year ranked 9th in the nation. I won with purely defense and a run game, and also by having an incredibly weak schedule. I won coach of the year, get offered a 9 year extension... take it, then get offered a spot in the ACC to replace Duke. Pretty damn good start at Army. But then I came back down to earth when I won 4 games the next year playing a schedule ranked an A-. But still, pretty fun.
