What does "press" mean for D plays?

The graphics for these pairs look the same ...

NICKLE "2 Man Press" vs. NICKLE "2 Man Under"

or

4-3 "Cover 1" vs. 4-3 "Cover 1 Press"

etc.

What is the difference? What is the goal?

I am trying to get better at calling defensive plays ...

Thanks!

They'll play press coverage (also known as bump and run)

Re: What does "press" mean for D plays?

so it is the same as if i do the "Y+down" thing in the pre-play?

it just makes it so that i do not have to manually ask for bump-and-run?

ok - thanks
