hey,

does anyone have any tips for me on how to beat the cover 3???

my buddy always runs cover 3 zone vs me, and i have some trouble passing on it...

he controls his MLB and just sits in the middle of the field, and pretty much lets his other DB's and LB's do there own thing....

he runs it alot out of the Nickel...

any tips would be appriciated...

I usually try some underneath routes. If you have two players crossing underneath his LB won't be able to cover both, he'll commit to one so throw the other way.

Passes to the weakside flat. Screens, dump offs on flares, short curl routes....all good plays against a cover 3.

Cover 3 defense typically always leaves 1 of the 2 flats open for big gains. You sacrifice a flat for an extra deep guy.

Run some playaction to get his MLB to move, and flood the flats.

Curls and flat routes by the WR.

Run the ball down his throat. Cover 3 is really bad against the run. He'll stop eventually.

Yeah hitches work great. The CB's just keep droping back so there is no one covering the 6-10 yard areas where your receivers turn and stop.
