need help... how to stop user controlled MLB

i am having the toughest time ..my friend always uses middle linebacker .. it seems the MLB can cover the whole field... any ideas what i should do.. is it cheese just to throw into the flats to counter him playing the whole field.. it just seems so unrealistic for A MLB to cover the whole field like that

I find confusing a person controlling the MLB provides the perfect offensive gaps.

Playaction is devastating if you use it at the right times.

Add in cross or slant routes from both sides of the field, and you will force him to choose which person to pursue in coverage.

This will provide a good opening if he's playing in a zone defense or such. If he's pulling his MLB out of man to man and doing as he pleases you have to take those opportunities.

If he blitzes all the time without the play calling for such there should be huge gaps in the middle of the field.

Basically, its still all about recognizing the defense and adapting your play calling to such.
