Re: Stopping the Option

cornerback blitzes will work most of the time, but mostly the key is to not go after the QB with your human-controlled player, let the CPU do that, instead stay between the QB and RB so there is no pitch, and if there is it is an automatic fumble. Even if the QB gets some yardage, its better than having the CPU RB break a 70 yard run on you.

Re: Stopping the Option

I spy the qb with a linebacker and control a fast d-end. I rush toward the middle which is open most of the time and take the qb then my linebacker who was spying will be in position to take the pitch man or a safety/corner. The qb will feel the pressure and pitch every time and I have a guy waiting. I played an option team last night and held them to 78 yards on the ground doing this running a 4-2-5.

Re: Stopping the Option

In this game, you won't be able to contain the ends in staight-up man defense. The corners play pass every play and always end up 10 or 15 yards down field, then get sucked into blocks. The DEs get caught up in suction blocks and the LBs take horrible angles. It is an easy TD on the goal line though, for the AI that is.

I suggest some sort of outside blitz with OLBs or CB blitz. Or you can just switch to the DE on the end the run play is going to and try to fight through the "super-human" suction block.

I don't use the 3-3-5, but whenever I play the AI, my O-line can't stop a blitz out of that package to save their lives.

Re: Stopping the Option

You would be better off using a 4-3 and running a Nickel strong, blitz and control the free safety
