Im not saying the online interaction should be the "end all be all" of game development. But this is an pretty good option like testers of a game. And like YAK mentioned Madden has taking this approach and look at the overall positive vibe both games are getting because of it.

No doubt it is the best thing to happen to an EA football game in a decade. I just realize that Ian is the exception, not the rule. We got a lot of great interaction from NCAA guys like OMT and some others like Greg and Russ, but I think the difference is that the Madden guys are leads who can make an immediate impact on gameplay while the NCAA guys don't seem to be working on those parts of the game.

Yes, it's very rare that a game gives full disclosure on upcoming features b/c the devs have to make sure that first there won't be any major bugs/holes in it and also have to deal with the possibility of the feature being a bust and failing to live out the expectations set. MLB 09 is the first (that I can recall off-hand) to really show a lot of the new features w/blogs and everything which is why I believe Madden is following suit to really grab the public.
