OK but here is the thing to remember when we talk about how impressive the rushing stats are for OU's backs, Sam Bradford was our main man. He won the stiff arm trophy and had great production as a true quarterback, not a full back playing in the position, and those guys running the ball still had over a thousand yards each. Does anyone know if there was another duo last season that did that?

Re: Top RBs in 2010?

My top five would be

1. bess
2. K Hunter
3. Dwyer
4. D murray
5. blount/ c. scott

I think that brandon minor may have a breakout season and i think that F. Whittaker from texas is going to take over and be a feature back this year and remind everyone a little bit of J Charles. As far a quizz rodgers. I think he played his best game at the right time agianst the right team. He is a good back, but he played out of his mind that night against SC and i never really heard anything special about him outside that game.

5. Blount/Alston/Masoli?

5 is really open, but oregon has always seemed to produce good rushing stats.
Here is Blount and Masoli numbers from last year
1 Jeremiah Johnson SR RB 13 168 1201 7.15 13 12.92
2 LeGarrette Blount JR RB 13 138 1003 7.27 17 10.62
3 Jeremiah Masoli SO QB 12 127 718 5.65 10 10.58

Look for LaMichael James to take over were J Johnson left off last year...he was hurt this spring, but is a step quicker the JJ

I think Oregon is going to take a bit of step back this year. Losing Johnson is going to hurt... he was their homerun threat last year that really open things up for a Blount to be effective.
I think L Jackson will fill in nicely for Johnson this year...actually quicker..

Quote:
Also wonder how committed Blount will be since the guy was basically sent packing when Oregon thought they had a chance at Bryce Brown (then brought back as soon as he committed to Tennessee).
That is inaccurate,...Blount had some issues with going to class, and Coach's wanted to send him a message, it had nothing to do with the recruitment of Bryce.

They also have some work to do on the offensive line because they lost a heck of a center this year that was the leader of a very good line.
This is true, the graduation of Unger and Tutupo (sp) did hurt, and this unit will be tested...many projected starters did not play in spring game due to injuries

Rogers is an interesting player, he had a great game on national TV vs SC which really help to hype him to the nation...He's small, and in Rielly system takes a toll on the body (see Y Benard and K Simenton) S Jackson has a perfect size for this style...If I was a beaver fan I would be very concerend, as both Rogers brother sat out spring ball recovering from there injuries...

Did you know Quizz longest run from scrimmage last year was only 33 yards...and his avg per carry was 4.8, not great when you comprare ypc to Best or Blount.
