NCAA 2011 Must Haves
I am not trying to be a troll, but it is fairly apparent that there will be several people either not buying NCAA 2010 at all this year or buying it used. In light of this, I thought it would be helpful to compile a list of the Must Haves for NCAA 2011. By "Must Haves", I mean upgrades/features/improvements that, if not added to next year's iteration of college football, would make you not want to buy the game. I know that there are many in the community who are frustrated with the lackluster improvements year in and year out (myself included). Rather than continue to complain, I thought I would be constructive by focusing on ways the series can improve. Without much further ado, here are my "must haves"
Presentation/Atmosphere
1. Custom Team Entrances: Clemson touching the rock, Notre Dame tapping on "Play like a Champion" sign, Tennessee running through the T, Osceola throwing the spear, etc.
2. Pregame, halftime, postgame shows: pregame- player warmups, keys to victory, players to watch, coin toss; halftime- analysis/highlights of key plays in first half, band on field; post game- gatorade poured on couch, fans storming the field
3. Injury Cart
4. Refs on field, chain gang, kickers warming up and real coaches on sidelines
5. Weekly Gameday show in Dynasty mode featuring Herbstreit, Corso, and Fowler
Gameplay/Animations
1. Protak- 9 man gang tackles, fumble pileups, and stop of forward motion
2. Formation Subs
3. Squib kicks, reverse kickoff returns, and globe kickoff returns; also field goal kicking should not be so automatic, make it more tense
4. Fix the defense: improve man coverage, defensive AI, and pass rush
5. New Plays and Custom Playbooks
General
1. All FCS teams
2. Create-a-fan
3. Fix Custom Sounds so that the songs don't play over default fight songs
4. Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Illegal Receiver Downfield, Tripping, Block in the Back, Illegal Formation Penalties should all be in the game
5. TV broadcast style cameras and other camera options
6. Fix the challenge system
7. Revamp commentary, delete all the old, exhausted lines and replace with new lines
8. Eliminate celebrate with the mascot
9. Please, please, please, please remove that obnoxious, repetitious animation of the mascot looking like he is conducting a symphony on the sideline while the fight song plays. For that matter, remove any obnoxious animations that have been in the game year in and year out.
10. Realistic equipment and player appearances: dreadlocks, facemasks, towels, handwarmers, etc.
Anything that I missed?
