Looking for opinions on Key Defense

How do you guys feel about the option to key defense: middle in human vs human games?

In my one dynasty, there is an ongoing debate about where or not constantly keying middle defense is cheese or not?

The argument that it is cheese is around how effective it is at not only stopping middle runs, but outside runs and passes.

The argument against it is cheese is that there are effective ways to punish it.

What do you guys think?

I'm thinkin' a quick toss to the left or right would stop that, but from what I've seen ...... it has a tendency to be overpowered, but when they guess wrong, thet do catch hell for it

Problem with the toss, if you play man defense (especially tight) the CB's can stop the outside running plays.

It can easily be beat therefore not cheese...it's risk/reward.

Teams with good CB's, and specific defenses, I disagree with this statement.

I am not going to post the defense, as I don't want to promote the weakness.

Ok you do that but either way when someone commits middle basically everyone in the box blitzes leaving the flats and middle open which you can use to your advantage.

Re: Looking for opinions on Key Defense

Needs to be completely taken out of ANY AND ALL football games.

The whole Gameplan Feature is fundamentally wrong.

Let's break it down -

How is it "fun/strategic/realistic" to make ur whole defense move at lightning speed in one direction or another? DL, LB's and DB's just warp into positions making Speed irrelevant.

This should have been implemented inside player attributes. Example - If a DE has the skill, AND awareness, allow him to play aggressively like that. Allow him to jump snap and create problems, not just anyone.

It honestly feels like they are always gonna put something in to undermine the advantage of knowing the game of football.

STOP PUTTING CRUTCHES IN THE GAME!!!

Stripping the ball is pointless. It's like they grab the facemask at the stupidest times. Head to head tackle in the backfield on 3rd and 8, FACEMASK. 3rd and 18, QB rolled out with no options deep, Facemask. I'm like, why would u grab the QB's mask, now?

The games turn into Gameplan vs Gameplan. Funny, i gave up a HB Dive TD from the 3 calling Engage 8, but stopped a 4th and inches with Gameplan. It inspires cheesing. Don't use the strengths of ur team, just rely on a 50/50 button push.

I do not, and would not keep a Toss in my audibles in multiple balanced formations to take advantage of Gameplan.

I know they probably think this Gameplan is a cool feature, so it will be here for awhile, so just give us the option of turning it off.
