My XBOX Elite was freezing every game, always in the 3rd or 4th quarter. I tried everything: Disk replacement, powersupply, relocation of console, and even had Microsoft replace my hard drive.I Picked up this puppy from Gamestop yesterday and have had my XBOX 360 playing CPU vs CPU games back to back since; Not one freeze! Made my year!

Do your research "buddy" This one does not void your warranty. It has its own power supply. I actually checked with Microsoft before purchasing. This is the best accessory every made for the 360 console. Pretty cool, it pulls the hot air out instead of blowing it in.

The one you are referring to is the first gen. Those actually caused the red ring because it shared the power source with the console. Read the reviews for New Egg and you will see very positive feedback.
